Meet Quentin: Enjoying our support in Hillingdon

Since April, we’ve been providing around 1,000 hours of support to people with mental health problems in Hillingdon, after winning the contract there.

New customer Quentin moved in to supported housing in the area when it first opened some time ago. He says: “I’ve lived here for about seven years. The staff are really friendly and pleasant. They’re all easy to talk to.

“I used to live in a shared house, which was quite hard. This is much better. I have my own flat and I’ve got a lot more control of my space. I’ve got lots of plants and I like collecting interesting things.”

Quentin gets regular support from staff and enjoys having time to chat with our support workers. “Staff come and sit with me and see how I’m getting on. They discuss my life with me and I say if I’m struggling, or doing ok. They also support me to go shopping. I like buying my weekly shop from Iceland.”

Thanks to the work of our new Customer Engagement Support Worker, Quentin recently got the chance to follow up his interest in cars.

“We went to the London Motor Museum for the day, which was great. We all got public transport to the museum and spent the day looking at cars. There were really old ones and also famous ones like the Batmobile,” he says.

As well as setting up trips, our Customer Engagement Support Worker helps customers like Quentin to access education and to give regular feedback about our services.
