Safeguarding Statement
Ability recognises that safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and we will ensure, as far as possible, that adults who are both tenants and in receipt of care and support from Ability, live and receive services in an inclusive environment that is free from prejudice and safe from abuse. Ability will also take proactive and proportionate steps towards ensuring that children and adults who are not customers of Ability are also safeguarded from abuse.
Ability believes our customers have the right to live as independently as possible, safe and free from abuse. Our staff have the skills, training and experience to respond to safeguarding experiences in a holistic and person-centred way, taking into account the choices of the person(s) at the centre of the issue wherever possible.
Everyone who has contact with Ability, or receives care and support from one of our teams, should feel confident in the quality of service they receive and feel safe when living in or visiting accommodation that Ability owns or manages. If you do not feel this way, please report a concern here.
If you or someone else you know is in immediate danger, please contact the emergency services by phoning 999.
